The current bank account was opened at the Hattton National Bank Bandarawela. To raise the fund they benefit show “SHA & SHA” at the Ethwil Theatre on 30.10.1992. The theatre was given free by Mr. Wilfred Rathnayake.

From that fund the Association donated a set of loudspeakers to the college. It costs nearly Rs. 25,000.00. They also provided Rs.10,000 for the repairs of the college.

The balance of the account is still maintained at the H.N.B. The present office bearers haven’t withdraw any cash from this fund for the purpose and this is a credit to the committie.

Mr. Lalith Lankathilaka donated hundred sterling pounds to open the sports fund in 1998, and it was deposited at the Seylan Bank Bandarawela. The membership fees too also deposited into that account. At the committee meeting on 21.10.1998 Mr. Wasantha Rajapaksha proposed to have a raffle to raise funds for the O.B.A. The raffle was drawn on 08.06.1999. Mr. Emil Fernando was genuine enough to donate all the prizes.

We were happy , that the 2nd prize “Cassette Recorder” was won by one of the peons, Mr. rathnayake of the college

At A.G.M. on 29.07.1995 Mr. Ravindra Jayananda inaugurated the “Prize Giving Fund” The first deposit was Rs. 112.50 dated 11.08.1995 at the Seylan Bank Bandarwela. It was proposed that only the interest from the fund must be utilized for the Annual Prize Giving, at the committie meeting on 23.09.1995. As the first donor Mr. K.H.S. Jayathissa donated Rs.10,000.00 on 06.10.1995.

Up to date of 25.03.1996 Rs. 80,187.50 was the balance at the bank. Then the fund has been augmented to rs. 145,190.69 to the date of 29.06.2001. The first Prize Giving was held on 22.07.2002. The expenditure was rs. 34,500.00

A special project was done by O.B.A. with the proffesional help of Mr. G.Y.A. gamini Anura, by giving “Distance Charts” in admitting students. Through that in 2002- Rs. 27,200.00 and in 2006 – Rs.31,900.00 added to the fund.

From 2001-2007 O.B.A. was able to hold five annual Prize Giving very successfully. The O.B.A invested Rs.200,000.00 as Treasury Bills on 01.08.2007.

In the Prize Giving list there are 2000 prizes. 

The O.B.A of St. Joseph’s College & Bandarawela Madhya maha Vidyalaya discussedon 13.12.1996 how to rearrange the “Golden battle of Uva” annual cricket match St Joseph’s college Vs Bandarawela Madhya Maha vidyalaya, which was ceased after 1972. It was decided to give the organization alternatively. So that O.B.A of B.M.M.V. took responsibilities to organize the cricket match in 1996. the “Big Match” was held on 23-24 March 1996. The past students of Our college Janalanka, Parasakthi, Duco, Singer Bandarawela, george Enterprises and others were the sponsors.Mr. Sumanapala  gallearachchi, and Mr. Noel Peiris assisted us coaching our team through their exeperiences.

The money Rs. 10,000.00 received from the Maths / Science 90 Batch, we have started the inter communication system.

By covering the entire college the inter communication system was equiped with 20 sets of speakers and it was completed on 28.08.2005. Using the technological skills of Mr. A.D. Balasuriya we were able to finsih it with about Rs. 60,000.00 , Mr. Daniel Silva and other members gave their fullest contribution.
